The Ontario Workforce Priority stream replaced several older OINP streams in 2026. Your employer first registers and requests approval for your position; you then submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and are scored on four groups of factors:
| Group | Factors | Max points |
|---|---|---|
| Employment and labour market | TEER (9), occupational category (10), hourly wage (15), Ontario work experience (18), Canadian earnings (10), status in Canada (10) | 72 |
| Education | Highest level (10), Canadian credentials (10) | 20 |
| Language | Lowest CLB (15), number of official languages (10) | 25 |
| Regionalization | Job location | 15 |
| Total | 132 |
Self-employed physicians are not scored on hourly wage, so their maximum is 117.
Minimum requirements (job offer applicants)
- Language: CLB 6+ for TEER 0–3 (non-trade) jobs, CLB 5+ for listed skilled trades, CLB 4+ for TEER 4–5.
- Education: a post-secondary credential of at least one year for TEER 0–3 (non-trade) jobs; high school for listed trades and TEER 4–5. Foreign credentials need an ECA less than 5 years old.
- Work experience: for TEER 0–3, for example 6 consecutive months in the last year (3 months for recent Ontario graduates) or 2 years in the last 5; for TEER 4–5, 9 months in the last 2 years.
- Employer: in business for at least 3 years with premises in Ontario, offering a full-time, permanent position at the required wage.

OINP and Express Entry
This calculator covers the OINP's own Expression of Interest system. Ontario also has Express Entry streams (such as the Human Capital Priorities stream) that select candidates from the federal Express Entry pool based on their CRS score. An Express Entry-aligned provincial nomination adds 600 points to your CRS score. Calculate your CRS score.
