Privacy Policy
Short version: your calculator answers never leave your browser. We don't ask for your name, email or immigration details to use the tools. Below is everything we do collect, and why.
Who we are
CRSTool (crstool.com) is an independent website run by Sang in Ontario, Canada. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean CRSTool. You can reach us at privacy@crstool.com.
Your calculator answers
The CRS calculator, CLB converter and other tools run entirely in your web browser. Your age, education, language scores, work history and other answers are not sent to us or stored on our servers. When you close or reload the page, they are gone.
What we collect
Information collected automatically
- Server and security logs. Our hosting provider (Hostinger) processes your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. These logs are kept for a short period set by the provider.
- Fonts. Our font (Figtree) is hosted on our own server, so loading a page does not contact Google or any other font service.
- Analytics (only with your consent). If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful, for example the number of visits, approximate country and device type. IP addresses are not stored in full. If you decline, analytics does not run.
Information you give us
- Emails. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and keep it for up to 24 months unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we ask you not to send us passport numbers, UCI numbers, test report numbers or other identity documents.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar browser storage. Full details, and how to change your choice, are in our Cookie Policy. You can change your choice at any time with the button, which is also in the footer of every page.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We may show ads served by Google AdSense to keep the tools free. If we do:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at www.aboutads.info.
- Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown. If you decline, Google may show non-personalised ads, which use cookies only for things like frequency capping and fraud prevention.

How we use information
- To run, secure and improve the website

We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the site: our hosting provider, Google (analytics or AdSense, only if enabled), and our email provider. They process data on our behalf or under their own privacy policies. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States and Canada. Where required, these transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under Canada's PIPEDA, the EU/UK GDPR or California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. To make a request, email privacy@crstool.com. We reply within 30 days.
Children
CRSTool is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Security
The site uses HTTPS everywhere. Because we don't store your calculator answers, there is no account or profile data to lose.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted on the homepage for 30 days.
